Qur’an 8:60 “Infidels (non-muslims) should not think that they can get away from us. Prepare against them whatever arms and weaponry you can muster so that you may terrorize them.”
Bukhari:V4B52N260 “The Prophet said, ‘If a Muslim discards his religion, kill him!’”
Qur’an 5:51 “Believers, take not Jews and Christians for your friends.”
Bukhari [4:52:177]: Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him!"
Bukhari, V1B4N234: "A group of people from the Oreyneh and Oqayelh tribes came to the prophet to embrace Islam, the prophet advised them to drink the urine of the camels. Later on when they killed the prophet's shepherd, the prophet seized them, gouged out their eyes, cut their hands and legs, and left them thirsty in the desert to die."
Such is a peaceful religion that does not threaten civilisation.

The answer is simple. Just like some christians cannot follow scripture to do good, some muslims cannot follow quran to do evil.
Some christians are ignorant of the bible, and therefore some muslims are ignorant of their q'uran.
What is fact is what is taught, not whether the muslims are doing it. If they are not terrorists yet, then FINE, but that doesn't mean islam is blameless.

Are you sure it says that? I have never read it, but I have surely heard a lot of cases where both the Bhagwad Geeta and the Quran have been translated wrongly in multiple ways, to mean totally something different. This is why so many people do wrong in the name of God. Even if you write something in plain english, I'm sure two different people will interpret it differently.

Maybe it would help if a younger Muslim were to respond to your statement. I'm a freshman in high school, so you can't really associate terrorism with me..If you do, then just think if you would consider a Christian/Jewish/athiest 14-year old as a terrorist.
The quotes you took are out of context. You can alter the meaning of ANYTHING if you just choose which parts are convenient for you. Wherever you got those from, they may be part of the Quran (I don't know the entire Quran, so I can't say if they're in there or not), but they're definitely out of context. Let me give you an example...
"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword."
Sounds like something from the Quran? It's actually from the Bible: Matthew 10:34. Check it yourself. See? You can pull that trick with any religion, all you have to do is find a verse and take it out of context. I could take that verse and say that Christianity promotes terrorism/violence, but that wouldn't work because the media doesn't support that.
Think about the media for a minute. They pretty much control your perspective on the world because that's the only way you can find out what's happening across the planet in other countries, unless you know someone trustworthy in every country. So if the media decides that a certain culture/religion is bad, don't you think they'd abuse it? And you wouldn't even know the difference. They can shape your perception of the world, and of religion, by deciding which news stories you hear and which ones you don't. They can also choose what details to give. For example, say there are two people who committed robbery. One of them's Muslim, one of them's a Jew. Most likely, the media will mention that the religion of one of the robber's is Islam, and not mention the other guy's religion. Don't you think that's a good way to make you see Muslims as bad people?
If you were in charge of the media companies, and could make the world believe what you believe, wouldn't you do that? Just think about it.
Just take the time to actually think about what I'm saying. Do you think you'd listen to me if I said I was Christian? Just try to think, you don't have to do it in front of anyone. Just be honest with yourself. I hope that your perception of Islam becomes better, because the actions of one small group should NEVER represent all the followers of a religion. I wish you all the best.

I am a Muslim to start with.
if you want the truth you have to put your mind to work.
We can lecture for hours about how peaceful Islam is and others can lecture for hours to the contrary.
so but it to the test, how was it practiced when Muslims were in control. because when you are in control you have nothing to fear and the true nature of the teaching will be clear.
if Muslims are asked by Islam to convert or kill the non Muslims can you explain to me the following
1- Muslims stayed in India for 500 years you still find Hindus and Buddhists.
2-Muslims stayed in Spain for 800 years
when they left you could find Muslims, Christians and Jews there
wasn't 800 years long enough to kill or convert all of them?
on the other hand how much time did it take the Christians to convert the Muslims and the Jews of Spain when they took over?.
the Jews were expelled immediately and they went to the capitol of the Ottoman empire to live there.
The Muslims were converted with the "Ham police"
The Christians who lived during the Muslim era in Spain still preserve their heritage and the are known as the Muzrabs now a day. They still wear Arabic cloth and follow some of the Arabic culture.

and then ask the question again.

that is how Islam has spread interior the previous. in the experience that they have an income , they loot and plunder even as screaming verses from the Quran justifying their moves. once the chips are down and they start up getting whacked, the peace finished Muslims who're silent till then, come out of the timber works claiming ,the non Muslims have twisted the real Islam and in common words an truly microscopic baddies are giving Islam a nasty call. they stay silent even as they are wining as a way to take advantage of the loot. they have performed this double interest concept out heritage and in common words of previous due their attitude has been uncovered interior the west because of a lot more effective perfect and swifter communications.

A muslim on this site said verses such as these refer to what to do in battle. I don't see most muslims killing people either.
btw I am not muslim, just trying to understand like you.
Girl Wonder: I think we're talking about the here and now not something that happened thousands of years ago.
No where does Jesus our "prophet" command us to do the things Mohammed commands.

"The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him!"
this is true.
that will be, it's after the world are conquered by jews.
the world are a disaster.

that time, people are to jahil or zalim(cruel).
he lead people to make good things until he know that he is the imam mahdi as he don't know he is before.

Yes, really it is. You are taking the verses that you quote are taken out of context and being a historical document you need to remember that. If you would like i am sure that i can quote the Old testament for you and ask the same question that you just did. Of course, I won't because I would end up with the same answer that I just gave you.

My
Liberal vs Conservative.
MY QUR'AN (and I'm a Christian) says:
[5:51] O you who believe, do not take certain Jews and Christians as allies; these are allies of one another. Those among you who ally themselves with these belong with them. GOD does not guide the transgressors.
But your point is well taken.
Boy the Quran has a lot of DIFFERENT and VARIED translations, doesn't it!
Maybe we need a rating system for Quran translations!

Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)

Islam was founded by Muhammad who is an interesting character. He started his career by robbing caravans. He was a thief turned prophet. He was a charismatic leader who was able to unite the religions in the area into one religion through his creation of the Quaran that borrowed bits and pieces from other scriptures such as the Bible's old and new testaments. For example, Jesus is cited in the Quaran as just a prophet as well as the Apostles being referenced. Muhammad gained power by conquering his neighbors and subjugating them to Islam. His teachings are to subjugate those of non-Islamic faith "Infidels" by converting them to Islam or pay a retribution and be under the rule of Islam if not converted. These Islam rules apply to Muslims today and there is a sizable minority of several million who subscribe to the bloody, aggressive religious theology of subjugation. All of the major wars today are with Islamic groups. Islam is the largest enemy that the west faces today and you can be assured that more battles will be fought by the US and west against radical Islam.
