Total US troops that have been died is 3027 (2490 of those were in combat & 537 were died in others ways either naturally or car accidents & etc.). There have been 252 Coalition Forces killed from several countries, 5972 Iraqi Police, & since 2005 there have been 23261 Iraqi civilians killed (most through suicide bombing). We may never have a true number of deaths since Iraqi civilians will claim 3 times the number of people that live in a village were killed but there are still people alive. Like taking my city of 600,000 had 1,800,000 killed - obviously that could not happen.
My guess is way too many people have died but religionist zealots have always caused a lot of deaths.

One too many. In reality I believe, as of today 1/18, the total was 3,026 U.S. Soldiers, with the total coalition lives lost to over 3,300.
That is not counting all the civilians that have lost their lives while working for independent construction companies and news reporters over in Iraq.
