apologise and tell them that it came out wrong....that's all you can do and hope they will forgive you...also it depends how weird it was, if it was scary weird then you need a brain check, but if it was like embarrassing weird then it can be fixed, don't worry...tomorrow's another day

do what your id says--keep on smiling--and make a joke out of it. come back with a "i can't believe i asked that, what was i thinking...clearly it must have been how (hot, smart, funny, drunk, nice, a good friend, etc.) you are/were and not what was coming out of my mouth. my bad. but it sure was funny, huh!?" and then hope they laugh back.
