It dates back to the book published by Charles Darwin in the 1800s, Origin of the Species. The cult will continue since it serves as a support to a naturalistic worldview that asserts man is an accident and all life came from nothing.

A 'cult' is a group of people with common religious principles. ' Evolution' is a highly substantiated theory whose validity is embraced by over 90% of the people who are in the best position to verify its veracity, the scientists who spend their lives studying it. 'Cult of evolution' is a meaningless random association of two disconnected words. If you're still concerned with how I 'feel'. I feel the same way I always feel when I see mindless drivel - infinitely superior.
