Before I even say anything, I feel that I should point out that I myself, am autistic. With that out of the way, here's the shirt;

Sure, some people may find it offensive. I know some people (the pc police) would find this offensive... but I'm of the mind that even the most right-wing conservative republican would only find this, slightly offensive.

Where my confusion lies is, the website, T-Shirt Hell has two categories, the more offensive of which is titled, "Worse Than Hell." That is the section that this shirt can be found under.

When I compare that shirt to shirts found in their regular, less offensive section, I find many shirts that are far more offensive than this shirt, which, according the to site, is more offensive. Am I missing why this shirt is so offensive? I know with some forms of Autism, rocking occurs. So, in your eyes, why is this so offensive?

I think it's offensive because it's making fun of people with autism, which is considered a disability. The use of the word "rock" often means that the person is cool, but in this case it's referring to the abnormal behavior. So you think it sounds like a compliment but when you see it more, it's pointing out something "weird".

I agree that it's not that offensive, and might even seem cute to autistic kids or those who work with them. But making fun of disabilities really isn't in that good of taste.

I believe it is because in some cases of autism, the person cannot help but be in constant motion (some hold and rock themselves lik the picture on the shirt), so the shirt is making for of that, not saying people with autism are cool. Making fun of a problem that people have and cannot change that occur through not fault of their own, is not considered OK.

Hah! I think that's funny--especially if an autistic kid wears it. It shows that he is intelligent and mature enough that he can laugh at himself and not take life too seriously.

Really, it all boils down to political correctness. Ohhhh my God, you better not wear that--for Christ's sake, you *might* offend someone! Same reason men can't hold doors for women anymore without getting screamed at; handicapped people will beat you with their crutches if you call them handicapped and not "disabled"; black people are now "African American" and so on. Really, it's gotten to the point where you can't do, say (or in this case, wear) anything without having to worry about offending someone. It's BS.

Lmao that's adorable. I don't see what's wrong with it. I can see why people find it offensive, suggesting it mocks people with autism, but honestly I think people need to lighten up. I think the more we can laugh at ourselves and others is a vital step in equality, if viewed in the right light of course.

You can't be serious.

If you are taking "t shirt hell" seriously, wake up to the facts: they deliberately make tasteless shirts that stay barely on the side of legal but aren't PC.

If you visit their site without a sense of irony, then _of course_ you're going to be "offended". But if you go there and expect not to see something that bothers you, that's like a black person attending a KKK rally and not expecting to hear racism.

I'm quite confused myself also. Just because some autistic people rock and cannot sit still......that shirt makes no sense.... its just stating something that can happen if you are autistic.

I do not see any problem with you wearing it given that you are respectful of people (and I imagine that you are). I think people have a problem with referencing "disabilities" (you know what I mean) because they are afraid to cause trouble. But I think it's ok to wear the shirt.
