DIRECTLY after BCT, before leaving for AIT. On base, of course. Possible?

I thought there was an amount of time around graduation where your family gets t visit and spend time with you on base? We don't really have time to marry before he leaves for BCT. Any suggestions?

I know when I looked at having our wedding on post, the chaplain at his current duty station required pre-marital counseling for a certain amount of time. Time was an issue, so we got married off-post by a civilian.

Also, there may not be enough time between BCT and AIT. You might be better off waiting until after AIT, or once you are at your first duty station. I know when my husband went through basic and AIT, he got literally no time in between (his MOS does them kind of as one big course) and less than 24 hours to report to his duty station after graduation. It was really hectic and I can't imagine trying to squeeze a wedding in there.

Your best answer would be to ask a Chaplain. On base Chaplains, who may very well do the ceremony for you are going to be your best source of answer since they know the policies better than most people would. Call the base operator and ask to speak to any of the Chaplains. They should be able to tell you what you want to know.

I got married while I was serving my time for a ART 15. My 1SG was kind enough to give me the weekend off from extra duty.

So talk to your CO. Most of the time they don't want the FSG all over them so they are likely to help ya out.

doubtful it's doable. Theyhe might not be allowed to leave the base, plus there's all the legal paperwork that needs to be done beforehand. Much better off waiting until he finishes school and gets to his first duty station.
