when I was in college for my masters in the late 90s', things were a little more demanding on good study habits...I had a good professor that recommended a website that was written up by a real Doctor that knows quite about study behaviors and how everybody is different when it comes to studying...though this site's link is from 1997, I found tat its still on line adn it has good sources for improving your habits and how to stay focused...etc. It's pretty interesting and informative...hope it helps...Good luck!

You must be really bored with a book on reptiles. What I do with stuff like that is I read the words out loud as fast as I can.

What usually happens is after a page or two I slow down, because I can't keep up and I suddenly get interested in what I'm reading.

Of course, if you aren't bored, simply taking notes on things you didn't know before would be a start.

Going to an isolated place with no distractions helps, say a coffee shop, Barnes and Nobles, Borders.
