First of all, be serious with him, at all times, don't give him reasons to talk to you. If he really likes you he will look for a way to talk to you, if he does not try it means he is just looking for your attention, and playing around. If you don't like him the best thing to do is tell him. Tell him "you are not the type of man that I like and I will really appreciate if you can keep some distance".

If you catch him looking at you all the time.

Also he'll prolly act nervous around you but try to hide it. He'll try to show off.

If he doesn't talk to you then just ignore him, he'll get the message eventually.

If he does then casually say somethn like "It's crazy how good looking so-and-so is" or say "Do you think so-and-so likes me? I think I might ask him out."

Also about the cutting thing...you should try running instead, it might substitute the pain from the cutting. But I'm not completely convinced that cutting is really that bad...just make sure you use a clean blade and bandage the cut properly, which you prolly do, but just in case.

I think you answered your own first question...if he won't leave you alone, then chances are he likes you.

To get him to leave you alone, be resourceful. Use one of your friends, or (better yet) one of his, to get the message across that you're finding his attention unbearable.
