Ok, so many times I offend others when I mean good, they take things offensively. My sister is a nice person. For the past 57 years, she is offended with most I say to her. I try to complement her and she gets mad. I do not want to start arguing over the issue because we are family. So, any ideas on how I should avoid offending her?

Sounds like she has a closed mind to your conversations. Anything will offend her if she is looking for it.

I have the same problem. But have learned that I just talk a lot. Because of this I don't listen to what I say so sometimes I say things that come out wrong. OR could be she is ringing your bells and pushing your buttons. Like putting you on a guilt trip.

People get offended about the strangest things. I was at the beach once. Saw a girl with her bikini bottoms stuck between her butt cheeks. I thought I'd help her by pulling them out. She slapped me. So I pushed them back in. She slapped me again.

People get flaky when they misinterpret what you say or do. You just can't avoid it.....

think, sticks n stones will break mine bones but words will never harm me.......if that don't help, count numbers till you get to ninety nine......then think,,,a slip of the lip sinks a ship...if that don't help, bite your lip,....if that won't help, pinch yourself, hold your breath, anything to keep that mouth closed. ,,if all else fails pretend you are dealing with an emotionally disturbrd person and play the part of a therapist....think of a funny joke, think of winning a million dollars and moving to miami beach...and falling in love again......hey...that last one may work...siblings can be irritating.........
