First things first, god didn't and does not save anyone. To do so would be counter to the most basic premise of what gods is LOVE. How could he love someone and let them die and yet keep someone else alive, it just wouldn't be right and loving for him to do that. It is (although it does not sound it) more loving to give everyone the same chance as everyone else.

The reason people survived is because they got lucky, the same as wining the lottery. If you were standing on spot X when the twin towers fell then you died, if you were standing on spot Y however you had a chance of surviving, IT DOES NOT however mean they your would have survived.

I am the first to admit that it is not very nice to think that god isn't looking out for special people but if you think about it it starts to make a lot more sense.

Hope this helps.

For the 9/11 tragedy God wrote down the names of everyone in the twin towers on tiny pieces of paper which he folded up and threw in a hat. He randomly selected a small portion of people who he would allow to survive. The casualties of 9/11 unfortunately were the ones who didnt get their names picked.

Why 911? Why not famine, or drought, or overpopulation. That been happening everyday since the dawn of humankind.

What about the holocaust and genocide? What about tornados and tsunamis?

Where was god then? People say it's all apart of his plan but I'd have to disagree with them there. I think that if there is a god he has forgotten about us...

Salvation is up to God to decide, not us. As for physically saving lives, what do any of us deserve?
