If I could afford it, I would build a solar panelled roof on my house, erect a windmill in my yard, and buy a electric hybrid car....cost ~$100,000+. Then I would generate enough clean electricity to run my house, and maybe give some back into the grid. I would drive without polluting the air with combustible gas emissions, like carbon dioxide and other toxic gases. But that is out of my budget range.

Another solution is, to live without having to drive a gasoline burning vehicle, and without electricity in my house. That would result in me losing my job for not showing up and then my house for not being able to pay the mortgage ... I would never ever generate carbon dioxide gas again...only when I farted.

If everyone would pitch in and do a few small things, it would make a big difference. Steps you can take yourself include changing the lightbulbs in your house to compact fluorescent bulbs; I've read that if every one of the 110 million American homes replaced just one incandescent bulb with a compact fluorescent, it would be have the equivalent effect of taking 1.3 million cars off the road. Plant trees. Recycle. Set your thermostat a little lower.

If you can afford it, buy a hybrid vehicle. If you can't afford that, you can improve your mileage by keeping your tires properly inflated and by careful driving: if you see a stop sign or red light ahead, don't speed up to it; let up off the gas and coast to it. Don't slam on the gas; ease into it. And never leave your car running to heat it up; that's not necessary for the car, and it's wasteful.

And definitely do as the first writer suggested and watch "An Inconvenient Truth," or visit the Web site: www.climatecrisis.net, which has great tips for what you can do to reduce your impact on the environment.

whenever we hear of pollution whether it is air pollution, water pollution or any other pollution, it comes out of unwanted material exiting out of a machinery. so today either the world is too machinated or we are using machinery more than what is needed. hence if we can research on the waste management and try and see that we manage waste or make sure that the waste can be recycled. is the solution for environmental pollution on the earth.

Well, it really depends on the factory's production. There's many types of pollution emitted from factories. These are air, waste, water, and even noise. Most commonly, we can see that factories emit massive amounts of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane. This is the main form of pollution. However, waste is also another type. Nuclear waste is the most dangerous waste there is and it directly pollutes the surrounding environment. This comes from nuclear reactors. Water pollution is another thing. Many wastes are often mixed in water in order to be disposed of. However, this tainted water is mixed back and often leads into a lake or river. This kills the fish.

Human beings are responsible for all types of pollution on Eart.

The only way to reduce or eliminate is that each one should get acquinted with the evils of pollution and then teach others about it. This will considerably reduce the pollution.

pollution is the main factor of qualitative degradation of the element of the physical as well as cultural environment.Three basic amenities of living organism are air, water&land. But the population explosion together with rapid industrialisation have led with contamination of environment with unwanted and harmful substances.
The human world is responsible for pollution. the environment is not contaminating itself. We r the one to do this.firstly people should be clean.then only environmental pollution will reduce.
industrial wastes should be controlled with the enactment of the laws by goverment.

given the greed of humanity and the disinterest for the Environment there is not a global solution

local laws and restrictions my have local effects but this has to apply to the globe since we live in a closed system and many countrees will not or cannot abide by them .

theorectically the solutions are Earth friendly Industries,
rules and regulations ,overall programs of education, alternative energy ,the banning of many consumer products (spraycans),control of sewage waters.

planting forrests to absorb carbon and produce humidity
and combat desertification ,which bring salts to the surface BECAUSE OF RAIN IMPACT ON UNPROTECTED SOILS.(this was my answer on trees which is relevant-http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqCbsrk9pJzxhTB_sEt1NRzsy6IX?qid=20070118181119AAcoXgm&show=7#profile-info-dHlp2aBGaa)

peoples lifestyle and eating habits would have to be changed, and many money making big industries would have to disappear
but can you or anybody see this happen ,
i dont believe for a minute that this is possible

Part of the solution would be a massive decrease in the world population
Kissinger in 1998 was talking about reducing it by 60%
but the mind boggles as to how this could be done in a friendly way
maybe this is the motive for America wanting to iniciate a global nuclear conflict.

Pollution only made by human desires so if we cannot control our self we will pay our death to environment, for example by nucler power projects in tamilnadu ,the waste of nuclermatters requier more than 5millian year for the degratation.

the solution is to think more along the lines of efficiency in terms of environmental health, rather than profit.

if that means certain industries have to be nationalized to do so, sooo be it!

There's no one solution, only a series of many small ones. Start learning by renting 'An Inconvenient Truth'
