Character is a choice in the individual.
When you admire a leader, they seem to prove more that they choose to make good decisions to serve the best interests of all, and continue to serve. It seems you don't have to watch them, and you don't have to keep prodding them to get things done. They are judged by accomplishments and many times it's while they have many obstacles. They keep producting.
Others - tend to criticize others, and promise they will do better. They always have a reason why they don't deliver, and then they don't even give reasons. They just keep criticizing others so you don't notice that they're doing NOTHING!
- it seems more in Congress are doing just that!
GOD bless us, always.

Its a life lesson..its not about President Bush,Politics, or you in particular. When a person(or Leader) achieves That which is unexpected from that person, such as a Degree,or a job promotion,or even a starting position on the Football Team he/she earns the respect of peers, family members, and society in general. On the other hand, there are those persons(or leaders) in our society who are Expected to achieve,Boast they will achieve, even Promise they will achieve, whatever it is they have set out to do ,all in an attempt to win Societies confidence and adulation.Yet sometimes we find that promises werent kept ,we are dissapointed, and rather than having earned societies respect,The person(Leader) we entrusted our societies goodwill in,has earned our Disrespect.

when you are a leader, for instance.. a coach and your team respects you it is because you have earned it through actions or past events and by gaining the respect of the team it not only increases your chances of succeeding but makes doing so easier. but if you are again a coach and you promise a great season winning titles and such without anything to back it you will fall without anyone to catch you. you can apply this quote to any leadership role (coaching was the first to come to mind) and it will remain true.

To win the respect of others means that you have already shown that you can do what you have promised to do.
Those who promise more than they can deliver means making promises whether or not you can fulfill them.

It means you should keep peoples expectations of you low. Then if you do something right everyone will be amazed.

It means that quote is wrong.
Bush has lost more respect than he has won.
