You don't. At least not any more. There hasn't been a draft, in the United States anyway, for some time now. You are however supposed to register with the Selective Service if you are a male between the ages of 18 and 25. They send you a letter in the mail around the time you turn 18 that you have to fill out, as I recall, and send in. There's not much to fear if you don't though as nobody has been prosecuted for failing to register since 1986.
If you were drafted, you'd know. Trust me. The military would send you an official notice to report for basic training or risk (likely) imprisonment.

What draft, it's an all Volunteer Military, and has been since the early 1970's in the United States.

a draft will only take place in the emergence of another world war when the usa needs as many troops as possible i think the lottery draft system was the last one used in australia where they select a day of the month eg the 18th day anad all men born on the 18th day will them be drafted

You'll get plenty of notice. Since we have an all volunteer military at present, the draft would be big news if reinstated.

when you turn 18 you have to go to the post office and sign up for selective service if you are male. if you dont and a war breaks out requiring you to be drafted and you havent signed up you could go to jail. if you dont know if you have been drafted you havent
