It's not "shameful" in this day and age to be Christian. You fit in. You are part of the privileged. Atheists, on the other hand, are the most mistrusted minority in America.

Well... for me it's these two words:
Baptist Texas
I hate conflict and drama. Coming out to people would probably bring that around here. There is Christian music and proselytizing 7 years olds at the nearest grocery store, for sciences' sake!
As for Christians in the closet... Why would they? There is comfort in numbers. (That's why I like to talk about this stuff on the Internet. Atheists are all over the place. MWAHAHAHAHAAA ;-) )

value stats are not significant till you have reference factors. some questions to contemplate whilst analyzing those "revealing" stats: a) what's the inhabitants pattern b) what's the marriage value between the relative couples - case in point, between Christians, are ninety% married, whilst between atheists, basically 5% married -the rest living "undemanding regulation" and for that reason "under no circumstances divorcing", merely "hooking up with a sparkling spouse" c) are they self-figuring out religious association or is there an purpose determination? d) Are the Christians working in direction of their faith? for variety of 30 years, i might have "pointed out" as catholic on a survey, even with not being able to looking the Vatican with 2 arms and a flashlight!! e) what's the divorce value between mixed faith couples and people who married interior of their faith? How have been those mixed faith divorces accounted for in the information?

Because a lot christians will treat you like crap if they know, and if you're a little kid its even harder. I'd just rather not deal with it. But if someone wants to know I tell them. I dont hide.

I dont agree with that. I thinks it depends what your family or community is like. Some people dont like to reveal their faith because they feel they will shunned by family or even killed in some parts of the world.

Because our society thinks that it is OK to discriminate against atheists. I don't go out of my way to point it out.
