1st of all why did you wait until the day before to start researching.
Very little was found on tropical birds. There is a bird though called a tropic bird. I never knew that. Here is the info from wikipedia.com ... Tropicbirds range in size from 76cm-102cm in length and 94cm-112cm in wingspan. Their plumage is predominantly white, with elongated central tail feathers. The three species will have a different combination of black markings on the face, back, and wings. Their bills are large, powerful and slightly decurved. Their heads are large and their necks are short and thick. Tropicbird legs are very short and their feet are totipalmate.

The Tropicbirds' call is typically a loud, piercing, shrill, but grating whistle, or crackle. These are often given in a rapid series when they are in a display flight at the colony.

I would term Tropical or Exotic birds as those that live in a tropical region at or below the equator. Such as parrots, macaws, cockatoos and toucans. Such birds are usually brightly colored.
Good Luck.

Ok, I remember when I was in school and put off homework, so I will have some sympathy. Tropical birds would be birds found between the Tropic of Cancer to the north, across the Ecuator to the Tropic of Capricorn. I would not included migrants in this category, which leave the area to come North in Spring, but birds that stay there year round. Here are 4 birds that are tropical birds. I have seen all of these birds in Ecuador.

1.Chestnut-mandibled Toucan

2. Elegant Crescent-chest

3.Long-wattled Umbrella Bird

4.Velvet Purple Coronet

All of these pictures were taken by my husband on two trips we took this past year. By the way, the other answers gave you incorrect and or incomplete names of the birds. I have a much bigger problem with people that answer questions they dont know the correct answer to than slackers like I was who dont do their homework! Slackers can turn out to be fun people!

Don't spend time on this website. Go to your search engine and type in tropical birds and find the answers. Do some research.

now to not argue w King right here, it became my impact that colorfulness of tropic birds quite helps them to conceal extra useful - many naturalists were noticing that position any tropical chook in temperate wooded area and it truly is going to scream at you with all those hues - yet attempt to discover it in the genuine tropical wooded area with all that play of lights and shadows, multicolored leaves everywhere etc. the large parrot will be sitiing opposite to you in the tropics - you'll not many times word it (I skilled it)
