Phrases and words of the bible have different meanings then what we believe they mean today, when christians quote something in the bible it could have originally meant something completly different.

That's the best part - you can interpret it to mean anything you want. If you don't like gay people, find some obscure passage and pretend it means God hates them too! If you like mayonnaise on your fries, or you prefer Macs over PCs, all you have to do is read the Bible until you find something that, with a little interpretation, "proves" that God feels the same way you do.

Since we believe it is the word of God, we have to believe that God makes sure that the interpretation is in line with His will

That's the trick... we r taught to believe without questioning.

that's true.. you just believe it or don't.. it's called faith for a reason.. and that's why not everybody can handle it.
