The door is the only way out of or into the rooms and is made of solid wood with no windows.
In the room you are in there are three switches, each controls one of three lights which are in the other room. The door is closed, and you can only open it to go into the other room, and when you enter the other room, you must close the door behind you and keep it shut. Once you go through the door you cannot return to the first room.

keep the first switch on, second switch off, and switch on the third switch for sometime and switch it off.
go to the next room .. the first switch is the switch for the light(bulb) which is glowing.. of the two lights(bulbs) --- which are not glowing--- touch both of them and feel which one of those is hot/warm ... the one which is hot/warm is controlled by the third switch and the one which is not is controlled by the second switch..

You turn on any one, and what's the difference what the others do? You can't go back into the first room anyway. Neither room has windows, but there's no mention as to whether the second room has another door, an exit which you'd find by the light of one bulb.

Turn switches A and B on and leave switch C off. Wait 1 hour. Turn switch B off.
Enter the room.
The lit light is switch A. The warm, unlit light is switch B, and, obviously, the cold light is switch C.

You never said it can be tried only once. So you switch on all the lights and go back to the other room

Turn one on, wait an hour, turn the other one on, go to the other room. The hot one will be the first switch, the lit cool one will be the second switch, and the one not on will be the untouched switch.

well i would stand in the doorway, and try all the light switches.. until the light eventually came on.. then i would close the door behind me..

it dont matter as long as ONE light is on to see where you are in the room.
Id flip em all on just for safe measure.
