You misunderstand the divinity of Christ! He was God & man; which is the only way He could die for our sins. If as you say He merely "put on a good act" then He is a "hippocrite & liar" which originates in the greek & means one who puts on a face ie: an actor; which would not make Him God, for God cannot lie! What do you think He meant when He cried out "My God, Why have You Forsaken Me!" It was because He was accepting the ultimate human experience in the form of death( for He had already experienced birth), so that THE way could be opened for us to come back into communion & fellowship w/ the Triune God. Alas we can also look to the historical accountsfrom both the secular, christian, & jewish accounts of Jesus the son of Joseph & Mary who died a murders death sentence on the cross...for us!!! Christ came in the flesh, while setting aside the mystery of divinity; which is a whole other question & set of answers. But it is by blood that an atonement for sin is made; which is what He gave us...blood & atonement. I think it is up to you to seek for yourself the kingdom of heaven through a personal relationship with the living Christ. It is He who will answer this question for you in your own heart. I suggest you read "Foxes Book of Marytrs" & Josh McDowell's "More Than A Carpenter" Which will shed some light on many of the questions from which this question arises, God speed & your in my prayers.

He was a man just like we are. As a human being he felt all of the pain. He had no sin and and if we say he didn't suffer all of what he went through then we're saying that God lied.

Because some old folks 1957 years ago or so decided that in order to concela a murder, they had to create a fable around the guy that was just a politician like them, but he became too famous and popular, they did not like that, he was just a Jew like them, but they did not like his way. Together with Roman authorities, they created the huge fable that still to this day has been used to brain wash us and all of our ancesters...
Indeed he sacrificed himself in order to fulfill a "prophecy" but there is no such thing as "he died for our sins"...darn, he'd had to die every day in order to keep absolving us for OUR sins...

Jesus became all guy. He left his glory in heaven even as He became born. Jesus is the only which suffered and died for the sins of guy. It had to be a guy. a suitable without sin guy. in the different case His lack of life would not count number. you imagine Jesus had it problem-free? He became scorned, overwhelmed to interior an inch of His existence to the position he became no longer recognizable, He had thorns stuck into his head, and by no ability those little rose bush thorns, He became paraded surpassed a lot of human beings and had huge nails hammered into his fingers and through his feet. He became then raised up on the bypass the position He had to breath by technique of lifting up his torso which pulled on the nail in His feet, then He became stabbed interior the facet and became given vinegar on His lips, by ability of all this, He requested His Father to forgive those who were causing the torture, then even as each of the sins of mankind were thrust on Him, He then felt God`s presence go away and He became fully on my own and passed away. In victory over lack of life, Jesus rose from the lifeless on the third day. he's a living God who needs you to charm to close how a lot He loves you. it would want to were you and me and all mankind on that bypass, yet somewhat it became Jesus. He took our position so as that we may be able to choose Him as our own savior. i do no longer believe any POW might want to have went by ability of all that, although what they had to bypass by ability of became horrendous.

The answers you get is all blind faith normally... i had the same question and its obvious... if he came back after dying Jesus probably wasn't suffering at all...
that is one of the reasons i believe in Islam... it says God played a trick on the enemies of Jesus, and changed the face of one of his enemies to look like Jesus, so they killed him instead...
God can do all things

Jesus gave up His Deity status. He did everything by faith in His ministry on earth. He had to do everything as a man or how else could He be our substitute

Isn't that what "faith" is all about?
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
... And if He didn't, then it doesn't matter, because there is nothing after this life.

Of course he suffered.
"My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."
And a second time:
"My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done."
