The Mitch Albom radio show did a story a couple of months ago about someone that was suing Wikipedia for misinformation. Albom said that the Wikipedia encourages people to put articles on there and does not verify the information.Although it's a great source of info, I have run across incorrect facts several times. However, incorrect facts often get 'Best Answer' on Yahoo Answers so I guess it doesn't matter LOL.

No, it is full of mistakes. It isn't reliable as a source because it is subject to change at anytime. If you were an editor and so was I, if you wrote something I didn't like, I could change it without your consent. The answers on there can also be full of bias or the writer may not have their facts straight. Additionally, say you used it as a source and a teacher followed up on it and then the information had changed, what would you do? That's the reason many teachers refuse to accept wikipedia as a source. It's a good tool, but don't take it too seriously.

Wikipedia is very good but not infallible. They allow users to add and/or edit and they sometimes put things in that are incorrect.

I consider Wikipedia a good resource for reference but I would not use it for a research report.

No - and I usually look through what ever I post before I use it - but its a decent source for information on the web - especially considering the price for it.
Good Luck!!!

Are you loco? I can change anything in the definition(s) and to prove that point I have done just that making up an answer and a dumb one at that. I would strongly suggest that you never and I mean NEVER use it!
God bless You and Our Southern People.

Any website will have something or a mistake, there's no such thing as perfect. Human or technology imperfections/errors.
It's actually a very knowledgeable website with accurate information. Great tool.
