i love my boyfriend, and i would never ever cheat on him. furthermore, i would never get drunk enough to have poor judgement. we are 300 miles apart, and so far, our relationship is going well since we both went out separate ways to college. he doesn't party, and most of the time stays in with his friends, and i mostly do the same, but if my friends are going to a party, i feel guilty if i go, even if i know that i won't do anything that would upset him. is it okay to go and not feel guilty? he worries, but he doesn't need to.

You have to ask your bf for permission. If he trusts you, then he will let you go

I have been in this EXACT same situation for a year and a half. Just explain to him that you just want to go to meet new people and hang out with friends. Tell him that you may have a few drinks, but nothing to impair your judgement or hurt you or anyone else. It may take awhile, but he will eventually get it. Just be sure not to mess up because he will never forget and will worry even more. Also, you are in college, so it is important to explore new things. Have fun!

of course u shouldnt feel guilty about going to parties, just what you should feel guilty about is if your kissing another man, or dancing with other guys, just try to stay within your friends group and not wander off to strange men you dont know......and you'll be fine....

Another example as to why long distance relationships never last....the slippery slope.....doubt, suspicion....then eventually betrayal.
