It's not so bad. 12 months ago in Queensland, Australia, we had a cyclone (hurricane) that wiped out all of the Banana crop. Banana plantations were a great source of employment for locals and backpackers.

The price of banana's went through the roof due to limited supply, however alot of those farmers still used the labourers to prepare the plantation, do planting etc, and those who couldn't get work in there found work in other crops.

12 months on, the new crop is even better than what used to be produced, the price has come back down and the industry looks like it is recovering well.

Side note: I'm assuming that immigrant workers don't necessarilly need to be illegal immigrant? You are refering to unskilled immigrants with the appropriate rights to work and pay Tax in the US?

According to what I heard, the CA Gov. is seriously considering giving them unemployment benefits both legal and illegal. Great huh?

There is still that job at the fast food drive thru for those who don't understand English too much.

Well from one CLOWN to another, do you have a work pass. I assume you do. Then you shouldn't have a problem. I really can't see how all of the LEGAL immigrants (my grandparents were) wouldn't be angry about ILLEGALS too.

Not too long ago, Americans picked fruit from trees in California because it paid well. Now growers hire illegal aliens to maximize profits and the growers don't pass along the savings to consumers.

Taxpayers end up picking up the tab for illegal aliens. California spends over $10 billion a year on illegal aliens. That costs each California family over $1100 yearly in added taxes.

Not all immigrants work as farmers. though there is a large majority in farming for immigrants, if they dont keep their job there will be many jobs left available for them
EX.
fast food
supermarket
etc.
