I think this is possible happen though we don't know. One of my pastors once said something interesting.
"Every time I meet someone I think might be an angel, I ask where he/she was born. Because angel are not born and won't lie."
I used this once but he was born in Connecticut somewhere.

You will not be able to see them in our 3-dimensional world unless they manifest themselves with God's permission into human forms.
A good example of this are the two angels who visited Abraham before the destruction of Lot's city. They would not eat his food, so he became frightened of their presence...

a person last year gave me and my family the gift of paying for our meal at a restaurant
however YOU describe an angel....I believe in what that person did for me and my family
they gave above and beyond what we needed, and we passed in on to the waitress
