Definitely an old WHITE man with a beard. That's what the fundies said..they are the ones who interpret the bible literally (word for word), so now he and they are stuck with it.. If I were God I'd sue!

There are many things which neither can be seen by human eye or perceptable by human minds.Like we can neither see our thoughts nor can have their material perception. As far as the image of God is concerned, it means we can possess some of his attributes-like kindness, care etc but imagining God as an oldman with beard can be only a child's perception.

God is a pure Spirit. He doesn't look like anything. You cannot see Him with your eyes. He is visible to those in heaven, but not in a physical sense. It's a supernatural appearance that we cannot fully understand, nor do those in heaven fully understand what they see. That is why God is a mystery and always will be. In heaven the mystery is seen in all His glory, but still remains a mystery. That is why heaven will not be boring. Those in heaven are completely rapt in ecstasy for all eternity. Sounds about like the least boring thing I can imagine.
Humans are made in God's image in that we have an immortal spirit, a reasoning intellect, free will, the ability to love and to share in His mysteries. God does not look like a human being, unless of course you are talking about God the Son.

I think our creation in his image does not mean we lookalike as our own truth is not even this physical body but our limitless soul. Meanwhile we are capable of developing his characteristics such as being merciful in our selves. The more we practise and work on that spiritual aspect the closer we get to god's image. At the same time I re-insist that we cannot compare this with our material appearance for its limitations and it will limit god which is limitless so this is impossible. I hope it helps.

God is only similar 2 humans cos of some of his attributes. e.g. he has eyes, hands, face etc...but please note that these attributes are not like those we can imagine.
Secondly we are unable to ENCOMPASS him, although we can SEE him in the afterlife. (for example we can SEE the sun from one angle, but not encompass and views the whole of it from all angles.
Also we know that Moses went to the top of a mountain and asked God to reveal himself 2 Moses, but God made the mountain crumble - showing that God cant be seen in this life.
Lastly when Prophet Muhammed -peace and blessings be upon him, accended on a nights journey where he saw other prophets such as Abraham, Noah, Jesus - peace be upon them, he came close to God but was unable to see him due to the fact that God was invisible to the naked human eye and seemed just like light to him.
So we can only go with the descriptions of God that he has told usand take the texts literally, for example if he is like a king, we cannot say that he has a crown on his head and a beard!

I dont imagine how God looks like. He's unlike creature, and our mind cant reach His image.
Q6: 103. Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision; and He is the Subtle, the Acquainted.
Q112: 1. Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,
2. Allah, the Eternal Refuge.
3. He neither begets nor is born,
4. Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
Q24:35. Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things.

well, traditionally (in the old testament) he's described as a king. maybe if we saw him physically he's look like a king (short beard, crown, sceptor).
But I think the "created in God's image" refers more to our soul and senses, as God can hear, feel emotion, smell (praises are refered to as incense), has hands (so he can touch), has eyes (so he can see), etc.
To me, it matters not what God looks like, Cuz He'd be God regardless if we could ascribe physical features to Him.....which most people can't cuz most haven't seen Him.

Jesus was the expressed image of the invisible God/
God is a Spirit.......When God became flesh, it was when Jesus
was born.......God was manifested in the flesh......When Phillip ask Jesus, to show them the Father, his answer was, when you see me you see the Father. I and my Father are one.
