I'm a Christian (still a weak Christian, but a growing Christian). Using the "f" word, or any swear word for that manner in each and every sentence most or all of the time doesn't set a good example of a Christian - he's either probably not a Christian, or if he is, God will somewhat curse him/her. On the other hand, we are all human and are born sinners, so it's only natural that we use the "f" word once in a while. If it's used in a certain way to add emphasis on how angry, shocked, amazed, or how unbelievable or incredible something is, than it is used in a normal way and have a "healthy respect(?)" for the word (and other swear words if you use them). Using the "f" word or other swear words constantly and out of context shows no class, intelligence, or pureness about yourself. It's all about respect; however, I'm far from perfect. Me and my friends use swear words more than we should! I swear the least out of my close friends, but I still gotta watch myself! It is worse; however, when you misuse the name of God or Jesus Christ in using "damn" or swear words. Using the "f" word once in a while is not nearly as bad, but I believe Jesus died for my sins anyway.

I was recently baptized and I'm working very hard to stop using profanity, but because I do doesn't mean I'm more or less of a christian. We have all sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD so I'm sure there are some things that you do that you aren't proud of, so try not to judge your friend.
If you feel like it's having a negative effect on you maybe you need to separate yourself!

Christians should strive to perfect in their actions.
One of the most powerful verses on pure speech:
"But amoung you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving." Eph. 5:3-4
"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of teh Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Col 3:17
So no, this should not be a characteristic of a Christian.

Its not right ! Is that how Jesus would talk ? Aren't we supposed to fashion ourselves after Him ? Would they talk like that if Jesus was setting there in the same room ? I THINK NOT !
Good for you for not talking like that.
The Bible says its not what goes into a mans mouth that destroys him, its what comes out of it.
God Bless & keep the Faith !
Here is a neat web site that answers questions right from the Bible, you'll love it !

Just because they say they are Christians doesn't really mean they are.Bitter water a sweet water cannot come from the same fountain. James 3:11

A real Christian does not use that kind of language...
It is not right and maybe you need to be with real Christians.. Talk to him and let him know that is not a part of being a Christian and he needs to pray about this... you just pray for him each day....

Well, There are lots of answers here but I think if he is a real believer, the Holy Spirit will convict him in time. He will feel a pull in his heart to confess to God The Father,

There are a lot of people who are Sunday christians. you know they go to church on sunday, and think theyve done their service to God so they go out and live in sin the rest of the week. Maybe he just needs to be pushed in the right direction

A person is a Christian by actions, not by a self given title or simply going to church.
A quote I recently read: "Going to church makes you a Christian as much as standing in your garage makes you a car."
I don't buy the "we all have flaws" arguement for something like this, sorry.

Is saying F*** a sin? Where's that one in the Bible?
It's not taking the Lord's name in vain. It's just socially unacceptable.
If I say "balderdash" with all the intent of "bullshit", is it any better or worse? It's just a word.
