Wow, I hope you are asking this question because you have experienced it too. For me, this type of dream has happened twice; Once, about the exact death itself without actually knowing the person who died, and once about a person I knew but without witnessing the death. The first experience was when I was about 13. In this one, I was not directly a part of what was happening, but I was watching a young woman being raped and strangled to death in a car. I have always had extremely vivid and sometimes frightening dreams, so dreaming about a murder didn't scare me until the next day. I noticed a rape/homicide story on the news while my dream was still fresh in my mind. There were striking similarities that caught me off guard, such as the rape taking place in a car and strangulation. The woman murdered was identical to what I had dreamed. The second experience was about 2 years later while I was in Mexico with my family over the summer. This time I was directly involved in the dream, and knew everyone in it. I was at a party with some friends from school that I had known almost my entire life, and I was particularly engaged in some conversation with a girl I had played basketball with for about 4 years. The next day I received several calls and texts asking if "I'd heard" and "could I believe what had happened" to the same friend in that dream the night before. I called around until finally someone answered and found out she had died at a party the night before while with several other friends of mine.. She had had too much to drink and choked on her own vomit. I was absolutely HAUNTED about the fact that I dreamed about a party with her the night she had actually died at one. Thankfully, I didn't witness her death itself in my dream. I had to miss her funeral since I was in Mexico. These dreams are not something I feel I can talk about with many people, and I would love to hear from someone else with a similar experience.

My grandmother dreamt that JFK would be shot the night before the day he was. She had told my grandfather, as she thought it was the strangest dream. Although, if you know anything about the (pre-cold war) politics occuring at the time, it really wasn't so far fetched.
She was Catholic and not at all into psychics and predictions.
She never forgot that day. He dream is now family legend. My aunt also has similar experiences.
It seems strange that many others also report dreaming about JFK. If they are all telling the truth, then perhaps there is some subconscious link between world changing events, the human collective and predictive mind, dimensions, and time. Or we all watch too many sci-fi shows... ;)

You're going to laugh at me, but it started with Pope John Paul the Second. I dreamed that I saw him on TV waving and that there was sort of a shadow around him, like death. When he was waving from the window, it was like I was seeing him in my dream again. I said to my husband, "He's going to be dead in two weeks". And sure enough, he was. The second person was my uncle. And again, I was right. The third was my mother in law, and I was right. I tried to warn the people around them (except the Pope, because I didn't know him) and tried to get them medical treatment, but nobody would listen to me. For my mother in law, I begged over and over again for them to take her to the doctor, but nobody would listen to me. I saw what seemed like a shadow and she started to change color in my eyes. Nobody else could see it. When she finally did die, my husband had two pictures developed taken of her days before. In those two pictures, finally everyone could see what I was trying to tell them. I am a little worried now, because a couple of months ago I had a dream that my mother died in a car crash two years from that day. So, I'll see what happens. Since these are people I care about, I get the impression that it's giving me a heads up so I can better deal with it. It hasn't worked so far. It started around the time the Pope died. Pretty scary. I get goosebumps and, unless i feel the need to as in panicked, won't say anything.

The night before I got my drivers license I dreampt of a terrible car accident. It was so real that I refused to drive. I kept telling my mom I didn't want to drive. She thought that I was just nervous about driving by myself. Later that day she got me to drive. Three months to the day that I got my license I got into a terrible car accident. Every single detail in my dream matched the actual accident. Even my thoughts. I think in a way that dream saved my life because I knew what to do.
Other than that I predicted a death by head injury in my family. Less than a year later my little cousin was killed in a car accident. I could go on with all the stories but this has gotten too long already.

Of course. When some one is sick or dieing there is a real good chance you are going to dream about their death. I dreamed about my grand mother's death but she was in a nursing home for 7 or 8 years after a stroke and my mother had just told me that she told my grandmother to stop holding on for the rest of us (she was over 90 and not doing well). Of course this was to be expected and holds no significance whatsoever other than i was thinking about my grandmother.

When I was 11 I dreamed my great-great grandmother would die and she did within a day or so. When I was 12 I dreamed my great grandmother would die and she did within a few weeks. When I was 18 I started dreaming that my grandfather died from a heart attack and I had that dream for exactly 6 years until it really happened. I don't like it, it's scary, and you can't tell anyone because you don't want to worry them.

Yes. Our subconscious mind takes in everything. It picks up on subtle cues here and there. When we dream the subconscious mind adds it all up and tells us the logical answer. Also we are all connected by some force. Call it matrix or what have you, at a deep level we are all connected and messages get through to some people as they sleep. It is very difficult to interpret the message when they come in a dream. Easier when you are awake.

Yes. Worst feeling in the world. It always happens the night that a person dies. The night my son died, I could hardly sleep; when I did get to sleep I dreamt he died in a car crash. I was woken up by the phone call informing me that he was dead. The day my mom passed away I had a terrible nightmare about her dying, it scared me, I made sure I told her I loved her before I went to work. I'm glad I did, because that was the last thing I ever got to say to her.

Warning: This story is not for those with weak stomachs.
My father's uncle was killed in St. Lo in WWII. Pretty much as he was dying, my grandmother had a really creepy dream that she had the entire family over for dinner. They were bringing out all these covered dishes and when they opened the first one up, the guy's head was there).

I have an intuitive mind but such dreams don't manifest themselves in any relevant manner other than wish fulfillment . Dreams of death are run of the mill to me.the real thing seems to over ride the dream entirely.
