I would say that some "thinning of the herds" is needed. If we keep going at this rate we will need two earths' supply of resources.

Why not just introduce birth control education to the world? It is very hard in some cultures, but its clear we need to change or we will, as you say, run out of resources. Heck, we could start in our own schools, since its pretty clear that abstinence-only education isn't very effective in reducing teen pregnancies. But controlling the birth rate would be a lot more humane than upping the death rate, as you suggest. In addition to birth control, we could try to limit our impact on the earth. Its mainly us in the "civilized" world that are having such a huge negative impact on the earth with unnecessary consumption.
So, birth control and reducing the resources we use.
Unless you are volunteering to be one of those who gives up their life so I can have one more baby and leave on every light in the house all day while I drive my baby around in my SUV...

you a point that the world population is increasing but the way you wanted to decrease the bulge of people is out of morality because it will be against the commandment "you shall not kill", and are you afraid of loosing an space for your house?

Not to sound draconian (like the Greek, not the dragon) but death is running out of options in the face of modern medicine. There has to be a way for people to die and Bird Flu is filling the vacuum medicine is creating.
