if your suffering would last for just a little longer and you were suffering unmercifully at the end of your life, would you be willing to do it for those few souls?

If we were honest, we would not be so quick to say we would suffer unmercifully for someone's soul. you never know til you're down to the wire. Jesus did it, but I'm not Jesus. There have been people who died so someone else could live, but I've never heard of anyone doing that so they would convert, so I can't say I believe anyone would.

If you are asking a hypothetical question, then yes, hypothetically I would too.

Raphael, christians believe that is reference to the Holy Spirit not mohammed. Mohammed didn't come til about 600 years later.

Why not live life to the fullist and not live your life thinking that by suffering and saving souls your going to be rewarded in some afterlife no one has any proof of. You deny this world in hopes of a better one to come but you don't realize this life is the only one we really have and we should live and enjoy all the pain and happiness it brings. Do not fear life.

Some people believe in a vampire god, that you pay him off with blood and suffering in order to win results. Go figure.

How does suffering have anything to do with converting others to Christianity? I'm completely lost on this one.

Of course, in fact for the first year after my moms(bioligical and stepmom) died, every time that I prayed, I asked God to allow me to do penance(serve time) for the sake of my moms soul.

Rafael, I just looked up John 14:16 and it states nothing about Mohammad

Yes I would.

Being able to help someone for eternity will outway the costs of suffering temporarily.

As long as they accept Jesus Christ willingly. I dont believe in converting anyone. But if they're curious and looking to me for help then sure I'd do it.

Absolutely. It would be a small price to pay for someone's soul.
