Go to a pharmacy and get A&D ointment (stands for Vitamins A & D). It's greasy, but works wonderful. Rub is on and apply cotton gloves a few times a day and/or all night. Use mild soaps and always apply lotion. I use Vaseline Intensive care Advanced healing. It's nice because it's non greasy with a mild smell. Good luck. (you may need to go to a hospital pharmacy for the A&D.)

Vaseline intensive care total moisture lotion works very well for dry skin. If mine are severely cracked and bleeding I put vaseline petroleum jelly on them before going to bed. It's a little greasy but works good.

The very best treatment for this is to use either Cornhuskers Lotion or Vaseline and coat your hands very well. Put on a pair of gloves and wear them while you sleep. Stay away from any lotions with alcohol in them.

If you go to your druggist he can order you some pure lanolin. It is not too expensive. It is quite thick, rub your hands with it at night and put gloves on, if you do this for a few nights I am sure you will see an improvement. Depending on what you do during the day, you can also put it on but it is quite mucky so you may not want to. It also helps keep the wet off of your skin as it is pure right from the sheep. A great protector.

I swear by a product called Everything Balm from Goodies Unlimited. You can look them up on the web. I spread some on my hands and feet at night, then put on cotton socks and gloves, and sleep like that. Everything Balm smells fantastic: lavender, peppermint and rosemary. Mmmmm.... and it really keeps my hands and feet soft during the winter.

I work in the lab at the hospital and use Vit. E skin care cream by Fruit of the Earth. Can be found at Walmart. I also used this on my daughter during her cancer treatment on the black burned out parts on her skin. This cleaned her up in a fast way. It feels greasy for about 10 sec then your skins absorps it up and makes your hands feel great. Great on your feet too.

I use Jergens ultra healing. Apply before exposure to dry conditions. I put it on it the morning and my hands get deep cracks and bleed.
