okay i don't know where some of you get your information!! If it is infected..THE LAST THING you want to do it take it out. then you'll have to deal with a whole new set of problems. the best thing you can do is keep it clean. And although most ppl don't suggest it i've ALWAYS used alcohol and Neosporin on my piercings..(if it can be pierced..i've had it pierced) Granted the alcohol does dry it out occasionally it's always worked better for me than anything else. You could try this. It's certainly not going to hurt. goodluck.

Infected Bridge Piercing

I've had the same problem with my lower mandable piercings for the last two years. I've found that teatree oil works great for me. It got rid of the puss growths in just a few days. Sometimes my bridge piercing will do the same thing, and when it happens I put teatree oil on that as well. So every other day I put teatree oil on my lower mandable piercings and bridge piercing with Q-Tips. The Body shop sells teatree oil and you may want to check your local grocery store for teatree oil. Or you can try cushing a couple of apsrin tabs and mixing it with water to make a paste and apply that to the piercing just before you go to bed. That may clear the puss ball in a few days. If not just take the piercing out. Popping the bubble with only cause more scarring and result in a piercing that doesn't look so pretty. I was a piercing apprentice for a year, so I got to learn some cool aftercare tricks that work.

I'm not sure where you are pierced since I'm not sure what you are considering a bridge but ..... a tea bag can draw out infection as for use on a sty. Just let it sit in a cup of warm water for a minute and then slightly squeeze so its not dripping and then apply it to infected area with a little pressure .... keep it there for half hour or so every few hours ( using new tea bag each time).Old remedy but it works.

Draining the area could actually invite more bacteria into the wound and make the problem worse, but that is subjective. Draining can be good or bad, its hard to say.

I have never ever heard of a pollub. I've heard of keloids, abscesses, hypertrophic scarring and boils and a few other things, but never a pollub. Perhaps you mean polyp? If that's the case, you might want to look up the definition because that is not something used to describe a piercing issue.

Are you sure this problematic area isn't because the piercing is starting to reject? I have heard of similar symptoms caused by rejection in bridge piercings.

I suggest you use the sea salt soaks, but also try various other things such as chamomile or herbal soaks, tea tree oil, hot compresses. Other than that, I would have to see the area to give you my best advice on what to do (I'm a piercer and have most likely seen worse), but I suggest that you read up on those articles and talk to your piercer about the potential problems.

I don't know exactly what a bridge it but it seems painful. Try perioxide to boil out the puss (just one time I know your not suppose to use on piercings but it worked for me when my 3 lobe whole got really bad infected). Then just keep cleaning like you always do...

Good Luck!

I tried looking for some info as well, and couldn't find any information either. The only way I can think to help you would be to either go to the piercer who did it or go to the shop that you used to work at and ask for their advice, the one thing i do know is to not take infercted piercings out. I dont have any experience with bridge piercings, sorry. Good luck though...

Maybe it's an allergy to the metal that is causing the infection.
