Im in military and have Va Loan ceritficate had some prior blemishes but all clear now. rating is 655 on average, with no lates in the 8 months or more.

660, no lates in the last two years. You will still get a loan, don't worry. Even 660 isn't that great (scale currently goes to 850). Get a 720 or higher and you will have no worries at all.

I am also a veteran so take this on-board. Go shop your VA loan against the regular market. There are some very competitive products out there that don't have as many restrictions as a VA.

While I am sure the other services have something similiar, if you are in the Navy go and join Navy Federal Credit Union, http://www.navyfcu.org , they have a great program that closely imitates a VA loan.

You'll get one, no problem!

In this day and age, there is a company out there to finance virtually anyone, if they'll agree to a higher interest rate with a lower credit score. But with your credit score, you won't have a high rate.
