Unless you are referencinig a modern book, the one you i.d. is non-exisstent. The are 2 "other" books similar to the NT. They are deemed "worthy of reading", but of insufficienty accreditation to have entered into the NT. The major of these two books is called as another has correctly answered, The Apocrypha of the NT. Within such there are 3 works that include "Mary" in the title.
a) The Questions of Mary
b) The Geneology of Mary
c) The Gospel of Mary.
This last one does not claim to be Mary, Mother of Jesus, but Mary Magdene. Originally 18 manuscript pages long, 10 have been lost. 6 back to back pages exist.
Mary complains that Peter didn't listen to her about the resurrection and then falls all over herself apologizing.

SEE below for text of the Gospel of Mary.

YES, Mary is the Mother of God IN TIME. If you insist that Mary is only the mother of Jesus the person then you are in effect denying that Jesus was divine from all eternity. Think about it....if Mary only gave birth to the human Jesus, at what point did he become divine? -- at the onset of labor? half-way down the birth canal? When he was completely out of the womb? If he was indeed divine from all eternity even as he took upon himself our human nature, then Mary did give birth to Jesus...God the son. Mary IS NOT the mother of God the Father nor of God the Holy Spirit....and so, again, she is the Mother of God the Son IN TIME and NOT from all eternity....that's heresy!

Dear Holly;

The book you are looking for is called The Apocryphal New Testament.
I need to correct you on one thing. Mary was the mother of Jesus. She gave Him, His physical body. She did not give Him His Divinity. No where in the Bible is Mary called the mother of God, just the mother of Jesus.

I'm not familiar with that one, but you may find the Protoevangelium of James interesting: http://www.newadvent.org/fathers/0847.htm

And to those of you who deny that Mary is the Mother of God, Elizabeth calls Mary "the mother of my Lord" (Luke 1:43). Just who do you think IS Elizabeth's Lord, if not GOD? Satan?

Mary is NOT the "mother of God." That is a misguided teaching of religion. Jesus is not God either.

You must brave the catacombs of the Vatican. No one who didn't belong there has ever made it out alive.
