You have the two breeds that are most famous for being gaseous!
Lucky YOU!
However, just as with humans of the same condition, you CAN control the problem, by feeding the right foods..Or, more accurately, by NOT feeding the wrong foods.
Don't feed any food with corn, (doesn't digest completely) soy (beans!) or Beet pulp.(pushes food through without complete digestion) Those are the culprit gas makers.
Choose a kibble with rice as the grain..and meat as the first ingredient.
It may be a big help to add a spoon of plain yogurt to each meal, to aid in complete digestion.

Canned food really is nasty stuff. Try and introduce some vegetables into their diet too. NO onions they're toxic. Rice and pasta are also good for variety. You wouldn't want to eat the same thing every day, so try mixing up their diet a little. You may even be surprised if they try some fruit now and then. No citrus fruit though. My dog seemed to love my orange at the time, but then threw it up 5 mins later!

I think it has some thing to do with brachialcephalic dogs (snub/squished nose dogs).

I have a Boxer, Boston Terrier and a Husky, and the boxer and boston will clear a room, and the husky once in a blue moon (usually if she ate something she wasn't supposed to).

My boxer has horrible gas, worse than my boston, but I think it has something to do with him gulping air while he eats. For some reason both the boxer and boston do not chew their food, and scarf it up like there is nothing like it (mean while my husky takes her sweet time).

I've tried all kinds of digestional aids, gas relief and it does nothing at all. My boxer eats out of an elevated bowel and his dry food is wet down. Also he eats a high quality so said organic (as organic as dry dog food gets) diet, with veggies, lamb, oatmeal, flaxseed, barley and fruit (berries great anitoxidants and cancer fighting agent).

I think its just one of those things you just get used to after a while, but sometimes its absoutley horrible. I have three diffrent types (all the same sent) of air fresheners in my room where we all sleep at night, and sometimes I have to crack the window..... Poor fella, I don't think he can help it.

But yeah, I think it has to do with gulping air and being snub nosed..... thats my guess.

You can help with the gas flow by not giving the dog people food. People food can give it gas and also they sometimes just have gas regardless.

Yes. The amazing odor mine releases at times is a cross between skunk and swamp gas. And, he always sleeps with that particular part aimed at my face. Tell ya, have been many nights when I have been awoken by this..... I think it comes from changing his diet or adding something to his diet that doesn't agree with his tummy. And, boy, o'boy, when it happens, I am sorry for that fact.

lol...my dog does the same thing when I feed him canned food or any wet food for that matter. Just watch what you feed them, things with alot of fiber will make it worse. But its always going to smell awful.

My vet recommended we feed our dogs "beano" before a rawhide treat. Seems to work A-OK!

Dog farts are the worst! There's nothing you can do about it. Go buy some nose plugs
