I pray to God through Jesus, because that's what Jesus death was all about. God loved us sooo much that He wanted to bridge the gap between Him and man, that'll He would send Christ to be that bridge. That's why Jesus always talked about His Father, or His Father's kingdom. Instead of pastors preaching on junk, they should open up the revelation of God and His kingdom. I know you probably read Jesus' life, but I dare you to go and dig deep. You'll see that Jesus, Himself said your family is those of the kingdom. That doesn't mean if your father isn't saved you don't honor him, because hey it's a commandment. My father is great as far as providing, but if I needed to talk, he'll be the last to want to. Sometimes he can walk by me say hey, and not say anything to me the whole day. I had a baby when I was 17, so after that I guess I'm scum. But I thank God for His love. I'm telling you, you never experienced love until you experience God's love. I remember one day I was over there at my parent's house, I was in the deepest state of depression that I can get. Honestly it was as if a beam of love just rain on me. As if you were standing in the sun, and a ray just beaming on you. So know that God sees you when you hurt and will respond with love. Be Blessed!

I catch myself doing both. Although I know some Christians won't agree with me, I really don't care if they do, Jesus is God. So in my prayer, I use both names, not purposely.

I don't know if you agree or not, but if you're interested, here are some scripture references that state it:
Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1, 1Tim 3:16, John 10:28, Phillipians 2:5-6

Praying to the Father, in Jesus name

(John 16:23) And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
