Good question!
I think your best bet would be an older dog, they have beautiful older dogs that a$$holes just dump when they are not so cute anymore at rescue agencies :) I just got a gorgeous Staffy from the Australian RSPCA. It feels very rewarding by giving a new lease on life to a beautiful dog!
Great notoriously lazy breeds are Labrador's, wolf hounds.. if you like them a little smaller, try a spaniel :) My grandma has one and they are lazy as hell!
Good luck!

No certain breed is lazier than another. I have fostered many different breeds, big and small, and I have had so called hyperactive breed be very calm as well as the other way around.
When you are picking out a puppy you will want to pay close attention to the energy levels of both parents, that will sometimes give you some indication as to how hyper their pups will be, but it doesn't always work.
Just make sure you have the time and energy it takes to own and train your new dog. A lot of dogs are overly excited or hyper because of the lack of exercise. This doesn't just mean putting the dog in a fenced yard and letting it run around...you need to take the dog on walks daily to stimulate them physically and mentally. Always invest in training, that is the key to having a perfect pet!

Older dogs are a good choice. They don't require much activity as they prefer to just lay around for the most part. Animal Shelters and Rescues are always looking for loving homes for older dogs because really they seem to do best in calm "retirement homes" . If you don't want to go that route just don't get a puppy because they will most likely no matter the breed require activity and a lot of it for awhile then they calm down. I think your best bet is the older dog age probably 3 and above.

Definitely do not get a Fox Terrier ! they are wild and they never stop moving !!! lol. I think that a good lazy dog would be Boston Terrier or a Begal. They have a short coat so you dont have to brush it all the time and make sure it's not a puppy. Because any puppy would be very active and hard to control. I hope you find a good fuzzy friend !

I would consider a Chihuahua or an English Bulldog, both do not need alot of exercise. The Englih Bulldog is very expensive, and can have some health issues as with any breed. You also must watch very carefully that an English Bulldog does not get to hot. It can kill them in a matter of minutes. The Chihuahuas are not as large so they would be easier to handle, and as long as you keep them warm you can take them almost anywhere. I would just research a few breeds and see which you think would work best.

i suggest a bassett hound, or a greyhound(yes a retired greyhound is about the laziest thing ever.. lol) think about adopting..if you go to petfinder.com or petharbor.com and tell what you want and where you live and they will direct you to rescues that may be able to help you ...besides saving a life you will know the dogs history and they come totaly veted (all shots and fixed) for $60-$150 and that is a great deal shots alone can cost over $100 well i hope you find what you need

Just adopt an old dog from a shelter as they need a home and don't need much exercise and maybe 3-4 times a week you could get some-one to walk it. If you know a 10-13year old get them to do it as they don't want as much money because they don't know the value of money yet!

Adopt an older or possibly senior dog. Talk to local rescue groups that keep their dogs in foster homes, because they will have a better idea of the dog's temperament and can hopefully match you up with one that's low-key.
