God protects us is just becauce He decides to.

There is nothing we can do to earn this kind of love.

The mercy and protection our family has received from God is beyound comprehension.

Romans 9:15-16
For He says to Moses," I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion."
So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.

Whatever reason God has for choosing to bless some people and my family is all right with us. We accept it without question and pray each day for continued protection and blessings.

You're absolutely right, that's just the way he is. God chooses to bless some people because they have honored him, or because it is part of a bigger plan. He also chooses for some people to go through trials if he knows that in the end, it will be for the best. God is so amazing because he is both gracious--giving us what we don't deserve, and merciful--not giving us what we deserve.

kinda...

God is sovereign, so He can decide whether or not to do something. But some things, for back of abetter term, cause us to limit God. Like if we are continually in sin and defying God, you might be bringing curses upon yourself. Even some things like refusing to give your tithes can affect you.

but continue to pray and thank God for blessings. Thank God even in dire situations.

If you take up your cross daily, do the will of the Father and love one another. You can probably earn God's love.

He chooses to protect some people. Others he doesn't choose. If you look at some of the things people believe he has done for them, and what other people say he hasn't done for them, he seems highly inconsistent.

Very true. We do not deserve God's love, yet He bestows it upon us all abundantly, thus, I thank Him foreverore. He loves us so much that He does not make us love Him in return, for a forced love is not a welcome love, but one we can proclaim to HIm ourselves is true. God bless all and praise the Lord!! "It is right to give the Lord thanks and praise!"

Humans make their own decisions and own actions. All results come from ourselves.

Don't rely on something invisible in the sky to help you. We all have to help ourselves.
