First of all judging someone is not a sin. But it is highly recommended that you don't.

The Bible says " Judge & ye shall be judged" but to understand go to the Greek! KRINO is the root of -to judge- anakrino diakrino, & katakrino. In english we get to discern, to come to an informed decision, & the biggie... to condemn or juge, as in to pass sentence like a Judge. We are called to use righteous judgement, which is to live with the Word of God as our guide. We need to judge/discern daily, though we should be very careful to past sentence on anyone as to their eternal "sentence". For we don't know that in 5, 10 50 years if they may come to know the Lord as Savior & thus live eternally w/ Him. So to answer your ? Sure we can judge as in to judge a tree by it's fruit; bad fruit bad root, good fruit good root. But remember too that we can also be vessels the Lord uses to replant that person. I hope it helped.

Mathew 7:1-2....
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
This makes it sound like if you're merciful in your judging, God will be merciful in His judging of you.... and if you're not merciful, then He probably won't be, either...
The next 3 verses discuss the mote in your "brother's eye" vs the beam in your own.... turn the judgment inward and perfect yourself before you start looking for flaws in others.
I know I'm not perfect. There have been times when a friend has done something they knew I didn't approve of, and they've asked me how I felt about it.... "I don't agree with your choice, but I'm not your mother, your conscience or God..."

One may not judge the person in regards to their salvation. That is left to God but, you may and should judge behavior as sin if it is present. The admonishment of the sinner is an act of mercy. One must not ever deny the Truth either and Jesus is the way, the Truth, and the Life.

God is the Judge.
okay, you don't have to go around sayin "Buddhism is false! Repent!", but you don't practice it or believe in it yourself. If you learn about them, I guess it's okay. Cuz knowledge is usually a good thing. But don't let them deter you from your faith.
and God, as the creator of the rules, has the right to Judge.

The Lord expects his children to use discernment in certain issues and situations which could involve a degree of judgment. This is certainly one good reason why we should always seek wisdom from the Lord in order to sharpen our discernment when judging certain issues. It is not wrong to judge and in certain situations could even be detrimental if we were to avoid our Christian responsibilities.

Matt 7:2-5 "For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged [if we judge poorly, we will be judged poorly; if we judge well, we will be judged well], and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you [if we use extremes to manipulate the outcome, extremes will be used on us]. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye [point out his sins, "minor" in Jesus' example here] and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye [our own sins, even and especially those we will not see, magnified by our selective blindness]? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' [tell him of his "minor" sins] when all the time there is a plank in your own eye [that there are greater or the same sins in our own lives which we do nothing about]? You hypocrite [telling/accusing others of sins while thinking one is above sin], first take the plank out of your own eye [sincerely ask the Lord for forgiveness and learn AND live the Truth and Light by His Word], and then you will see clearly [be in a righteous position] to remove the speck from your brother's eye [to judge and to help him out of his bondage to sin]." At Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan, Jesus was talking to the multitudes gathered there after hearing of His message and of His healings to beseech them to not become like the pharisees and hypocrites who think they are above sin.
God Bless You

It's acceptable to correct someone, but leave the judgement up to God.
2Ti 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Judging the actions of others in the church is allowed under controlled circumstances in order to bring about restoration by allowing Satan to cause them a hard time.
