My first reaction is that you should understand that he's trying to manipulate you into something or other. As a general rule, manipulators do not make comfortable partners in a relationship that has mutual respect and give and take.

There is nothing you CAN do. Your boyfriend needs professional counselling to explore why he is so pathetically insecure.
