Is Pantene Pro V Shampoo REALLY *that* bad?

I heard it strips the color from your hair and makes it all bad. Have YOU ever used it and how do YOU like it?? Is it actually good?

Pantene is one of the worst things you could put in your hair. THey put a ton of wax in it so they can sell it cheap. THe wax will coat the hair after awhile and actually make the conditioners in it not be able to penetrate the hair shaft. Use tresemme it's tons better because it started in salons

I use Pantene Pro V shampoo and conditioner and they work great for my hair. If you are speaking about dyed hair color than most shampoos can strip the color unless it is specifically formulated to be gentle on colored hair. It's also important to use the right kind of shampoo for your hair. Pantene Pro V, like many brands, has several types of shampoo available for everything from oily or dry hair to color-safe and straightening.

If the consumer pays $3 for a shampoo, and the company makes a profit, what does that say for the quality of ingredients in the product? CHEAP! the shampoo's have crazy harsh sulfates in them that strip your hair-and fade your color quicker-but dries it out too. the conditioner I don't even know how much waxy crap is in it...gives the illusion of softness of course when your putting that much of a coating on your hair-but you'll have some crazy build up. It just coats the hair shaft, not repairs it like quality shampoo's and conditioners. If your in a pinch-Paul Mitchell isn't really that expensive at all. there color safe shampoo/conditioners are like $7.95 ish...and please accept no immitation at the grocery store. Paul Mitchell is really trying to keep their products from being stolen, and tampered with, and being put on the shelves at wal-mart. trust me I've heard stories of people buying the shampoo and it being water-or a totally different color that what it's supposed to be! there is a reason it says "garunteed only when sold by a professional" on the back :)

It doesn't strip the color from your hair but it can strip the buildup on your hair. It is a good shampoo! I have heard that you should change your shampoo and conditioner frequently to avoid the buildup that makes your hair go flat. (Also that Neutrogena shampoo is the best for getting the gunk off so that should be used once a month or so. Don't know how true it is!)

I've never heard that about pantene Pro V, I use it all the time (specifically smoothe and shine) and it makes my hair really soft! I love it!

My hair is color treated and I use it. I've never seen anything. If you are that concerned only use it every other day. You really don't need to shampoo your hair daily unless you have a lot of oils on your scalp.

I never had any problems. But if you use it and start seeing a difference in a bad way stop.
Could be bad for dyed/permed hair.

My hair colorist says its bad and that they actually use it to clean there floors. There is something in it that fades your hair color but I used it a long time and I still do when I can't afford the pricy hair salon products.
