I advice may not be the best. Try taking the cat to the vet doctor.

My cat had a corneal ulcer and when it cleared up, there was scaring (temporary) that looked like what you describe.
However, because the ulcers are so super painful , you would probably have noticed it in the developing stages as your cat would have spent quite abit of time hinding and trying to sleep. They eye probably would have been red and bloodshot at the onset, too. Your cat wouldn't have been eating and you just would have known it was sick.

Corneal ulcers are really painful and have to be fixed before they become corneal sequestrums - then the cat is at risk of losing the eye, not to mention the expensive medical treatment.

You should get it checked out.

Good luck to you and puss

If the entire cornea is hazy in only 1 eye you need to have that checked out quickly. This could be caused my many things, but to affect the entire cornea in a kitten - uveitis (inflammation inside the eye) or glaucoma would be the biggest concerns. Both of these need to be treated as soon as possible to try to save vision and avoid additional damage to the eye. A number of systemic diseases can cause inflammation in the eye and blood tests may be advised depending on where you live. Has the kitten been tested for FeLV/FIV/FIP? A small corneal ulcer (scratch in the eye from kitty litter for instance) should clear up quickly, rarely affects the entire cornea, and will likely appear quite painful. As previously mentioned - Herpesvirus can cause inflammation around, on and inside the eye. Other corneal diseases or trauma are also possible (endothelial disease for example). Cataracts are very rare in cats and usually occur later in life due to long-term inflammation (chronic uveitis). I hope by the time you are reading this you have already been to the vets office!!!

It could be but most likely an infection. Get some regular eye drops in the pet section of your store and drop a small amount (2 or 3 drops) in it's eye about twice a day and see if that helps. If not, check with your vet.

Well i think i know what the problem is. See my dog had the same thing wrong and i didn't know what was going on so i took him to the vet and found out that the hazed eye look is a sign that eye is blind. so if i were you i would take him in right away.

My cat (Alex) is one of two tomcats who co exist but in the beginning... the fought night and day. Alex's right eye is hazed over now due to multiple injuries he still has the eye. but the hopes of his eye being 100% healed is low he is pretty much blind in that eye and can see light and dark at best. maybe a shape or ghost image. in short has your cat ever ben in a fight? or maybe damaged it playing around the house?

It could be a cataract, but a visit to the vet would be your best bet.

My cat's eyes do that sometimes, but she has a Herpes Virus and when she's stressed out, her eyes cloud over. And no, it's not contagious to humans.

IT COULD BE AN INFECTION, BUT MAYBE NOT. TRY TO PUT A WARM COMPRESS ON IT. WARM A WASHCLOTH WITH REAL WARM WATER, BUT NOT HOT AND PLACE IT ON HIS EYE. HOLD FOR A LITTLE WHILE AND KEEP TRYING TO CLEAN IT. AVOID DIGGING AT THE EYES OR REPEATEDLY RUBBING IT. IF IT DOES NOT RESPOND AFTER A COUPLE DAYS, CALL THE VET. THIS IS A COMMON THING WITH ALL PETS. DON'T PANIC!
