that could be the majority of it, and the dog could have eaten something that is causing his stomach to coat it with mucus. I'd say keep an eye on his next couple opf BMs and if it still looks "off" then take him to the vet ASAP

Personally it looks like he got into some soap to me. Had a rescue dog once who got into our bathroom, climbed into the tub and ate a bar of soap... came out looking pretty similar to those bread crumbs looking things you've got going on there. He walked a little funny after passing those stools, and kept sniffing his bum (personally I kinda' wish he'd've stayed smelling like soap and not dog, but oh well) but he was fine. Never touched the soap again either. Though it also kinda' does resemble sawdust. Don't suppose there's any of that around anywhere he could have gotten into is there? Did you change his dog food recently? Could be from the change in food if you did. Sorry I can't really be more helpful.

The best thing to do in this situation is to call and talk to a vet. There is no sure reason of what is going on with your dog. Be sure to save a sample of the stool (refrigerate it). If your vet says there is nothing to worry about or gives at home instructions then you can disgard; however, most vets will say that they want you to bring in your dog to exam just to make sure. Also bring the stool (it will save lots of time and extra cost in the long run).
You should just have your dog looked over and examed, it could be nothing or it could be something. Better to be safe than sorry. Good Luck.

Blood in the stool with mucous means his colon is irritated. He'll need his stool analyzed to determine what the cause is. Most likely it's a bacterial infection. He'll need a prescription diet, and a weeks worth of antibiotics in that case.
Either way, waiting is not a good plan.

as long as he's acting fine just keep an eye on him for a couple days.
If you continue to see blood in the stool or it gets worse take him to the vet it could be a irritated intestine which they'll put him on special food and meds for about a week.

You should keep an eye on him. If it happens again or if he starts to act abnormal call the vet. Lots of possible causes-possibley parasites, or a virus to begin with.

Blood and mucus means his digestive track is very irritated .. or worse. I would spend the $40.00 and bring him to a Vet. Good Luck ! :)

when in doubt call the vet. I had a dog when she pooped it was green. (her intestines were slowly deteriorating.) When in doubt, call the vet.
