Your doctor needs to exclude organic causes of your tiredness before putting you on anti depressants.
Anaemia and hypothyrodism and other things can cause this.
I would advice to go to your doctor and exclude other diagnoses.
Good luck

I felt the exact same way dear. I had severe anemia. Lack of iron, lack of red blood cells = lack of oxygen going to brain... My hemoglobin was very low 63 out of 120 (120 is the norm). Ask your doctor to check your hemoglobin count, red blood cells to see if you have anemia... if you do have it you will need to start on iron pills prescribed by your doctor as well as contraception pills for the hormones. I almost needed 2 blood transfusions and iron transfusions but got away with it, etc... You should check seriously before it gets any worse. You can actually die if it's anemia and severe like I had without any attention. It can also be something else. Ask your doctor for testings that is all I can provide as information. I am much better but now I am battling with to high of a iron intake I am almost at 150 for my hemoglobin count which is higher then the norm but that is my problem that needs to be stabled by my doctors advice and attention/help. I have bleed for 4 1/2 after my son's birth. I really do hope you feel better soon. God bless you.

if you are sure you are not anaemic then I agree with the second answerer. You may have sleep apnoea. You need to have a sleep monitor on you to see. The only other thing I can think of is something like ME or fibromyalgia. Do you sleep well at night as well as sleeping in the day? Do you feel exhausted after a full nights sleep? Do you remember alot of dreams and are they very vivid? I think you should be referred to a sleep specialist. GPs don't take that kind of thing very seriously, yet sleep is so important. I hope you get sorted. Be careful and good luck.

Most likely to be a lack of vitamins such as magnesium or espeically iron which could be anaemia due to too much blood less during your period or lack of iron in your diet. I'm exactly the same, always tired, go doctor, 96% of women have iron defeciency!

You may want to ask your family doctor about doing a sleep test on you - you may be suffering from sleep apnea - where you have lapses in breathing during sleep. This leads to symptoms such as you are describing. Worse yet - it can be physically harmful!

Go to the doctors & ask to check Potasium levels. You may need to eat bananas & oranges. Dark chocolate small amounts each day may also help.
