It will aged prematurely and turn to vinegar. If you drink it within two months it should be okay.

It's difficult to say without knowing what kinds of wines you will be storing.
Ideally, wine should be stored on it's side in a cool environment.
However, for those without a wine cellar, we make do.
I keep my red wines ($10 - $30 a bottle) on a rack in a shaded area of the house. So far so good.
The wine that I drink on a regular basis, I keep the case in the car. During the Los Angeles summer months, toward the end of the case, the bottles will have a slightly off flavor.

Since you say there is no direct contact, the effect may take a while but it will eventually maderize the wine and make it taste musky and/or vinegary. Essentially, don't put your wine rack there - find some place else.

Yes it is bad for your wine. It should be stored in a cool dark space. If you don't care to show off your good wine in a decorative spot then I would store it under the bed or in a closet or in the garage or basement.

all wines should be stored in a cool dark place, reds will last for years and years, whites will turn to vinegar by two years in most cases. also it may dry out the cork allowing air to get in and spoil the wine. corks need to stay moist, that is why ou need to turn the bottle ever so often

Wine should be stored in a cool, dark place. You should rearrange your place to fit your wrought iron wine rack, such as a closet, or ditch the wine rack if need be.....
