regrettably, you're incorrect there. often a prime grasp Sgt. may be the unlisted branch head, and the 2d Lt. may be the branch officer. The Sgt. could ought to record to the officer, even inspite of the incontrovertible fact that he has greater experience and years interior the service. Like whilst i exchange into interior the army, i exchange into an electrician. We had a Senior chief Petty Officer in value of our branch. Above him exchange right into a Lt. who exchange into the electrical powered branch officer. Above him exchange into the engineering officer, a commander. Above him exchange into the commanding officer, a captain. Enlisted adult males are consistently decrease rank than officers. that would not advise that the lowly ranked officer with much less experience would not hear to the enlisted chief, or bypass to him for suggestion or direction. oftentimes he's acquainted along with his place... yet as some distance because of the fact the chain of command is going... the officer remains above the enlisted guy.

Army

Air Force
Marine Corps
Coast Guard
It goes E-1 to E-9, the higher the number, the more senior the rank.
Then O-1 to O-10. There are also Warrant Officers, I'm not 100% sure how they work, they are higher than enlisted men but not quite as high as officers, depending on their rank, I THINK.
