On Yahoo! Answers why is Christianity always the target from people? What about Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism?

Most people answering are from the US, and most of them are Christian. People talk about what's most familiar to them. Most of the religious people posting questions are Christian.

But I do agree with you, all religions deserve ridicule, so we shouldn't just single out Christianity. There are no gods. Religion is just organized superstition.

From what I can see, Islam is being frequently attacked on Yahoo! Answers and I have seen responses from fundamentalist Christians saying Buddhism and Hinduism are a load of rubbish. There have also been statements made insulting the Baha'i Faith, which I am a member of.

So NO, Christianity is not always the target. Most religions get some kind of ill-treatment here on Yahoo! Answers.

Yes, that doesn't seem fair because in the long history of bad ideas I'd have to say Christianity and Islam both have legitimate claims at being number 1. After all it's not enough to be nonsense, a really bad idea needs to be nonsense that does way more harm than good.

You have either bad timing or selective reading - and I can't be too picky about that, I do NOT read every question here.

There are a couple of people here who are dedicated to slamming Hinduism and Buddhism. There are a few who always show up to tell us Pagans that we're "really" worshiping Satan (unbeknown to us, since we don't believe such a creature exists), and there are a LOT of Islam bashers here, too.

Not to mention the (usually absurd) inflammatory questions to atheists.

Because the followers of xianity are the most vocal, and some of the biggest jerks. The vast majority of Xians on here make people dislike them because of their intolerance of everyone else. They persecute and insult others constantly, but can't seem to take the same treatment in reply. And that's why they've become targets.

You seem to be new to this section or you would have seen that other religions have been dumped on besides Christianity. Its just that the Christians are the ones who are the most strident in voicing their own views with misquoted scripture verses and put downs about other religions.This comes in waves depending on how Conservative or fundamentalist they are.

Islam is just as violent and stupid as Christianity. AFAIC, Muslims and Christians should all be shipped to another planet so they can fight each other to the death. Hindus and Buddhists, though, usually mind their own business and don't go around proselytizing, building churches on every street corner, or trying to force their beliefs into our schools. (Might be different in India, though, where Hindu is the main religion.)

Are you kidding? Islam and Hinduism take their share of hits and abuse as well. Spend a week just watching questions and you'll see. It seems to go in phases.

Simple. Christians are ALWAYS trying to convert others. Other faiths- Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Zoroastrians, Wiccans, etc- do not try to 'save' everyone else.

(Some Muslims try to convert others, but nowhere near to the same degree. And strangely, some Atheists are quite big on trying to convert others also.)
