OK, So my mom had breast cancer in Aug '05 and was operated in Feb '06 Luckily they didnt have to remove her breast. For the last month she's been complaining of a pain in her lower back. She says that she can't bend down or kneel down because the pain won't let her and she also couldnt sit down because her lower back would hurt. She also says that she feels like a sharp pain and like they are pulling her skin in her lower back. My mom has been a hair dresser now for over 25 yrs so she does stand all day which puts a lot of tension on her back if that would be the case why would her back be hurting now and not 10 yrs ago and could it be a pinch nerve? A lot of people have told me that it could be a pinch nerve or a muscle. She already went to the oncologist and he send her to do a couple of test which are going to be done tomorrow morning. At this moment she no longer has the sharp pain but she still has discomfort in her lower back at then end of the day. What do u think it could be?

You won't know until she gets the test results back, but I can tell you from experience that it doesn't take a lot to set your back off. It really could be a pulled muscle or a pinched nerve, or it could be a disc herniation. The most common disc herniation is in the lower back, causing lower back pain often referred to as lumbargo. Just because the pain is starting in what seems out of the blue does not mean that she didn't do something to hurt her back. I reccomend staying calm until she gets her test results back, and if they come out free and clear of cancer (which I very much hope they do) then I recomend she head to a chiropractor.

Breast cancer, when it metastasizes, will often spread to the extremities (legs, arms).

Two women I knew had breast cancer metastasize to their spines, one was my aunt and the other was my friend's mother. It took months for them to find the problem in my aunt because at that time she had hip pain and trouble walking but had no idea she had breast cancer at the time that had already spread to bone. I am glad your mom is seeing an oncologist tomorrow, that is so important. Always keep in mind getting a second opinion too if necessary.
Keep a positive outlook for her no matter the outcome. My aunt and Friend's mom died from their cancer but that was over thirty years ago! They have made so many great strides in treatment and research and a positive outlook is important as well.
I recommend a wonderful book that is so informative regarding different cancers, it's stages, treatment, etc. Although it is frank, it still leaves the reader feeling positive and encouraged. It is easy for anyone to understand and written by wonderful doctors who give all the information anyone needs to answer their questions.

for the presentation of the symptoms i don´t think that the pain is provoke by the cancer, it looks more like a regular back pain(probably a pinch nerve) and been your mom a dresser that is more probably, anyway is good that the oncologist is making new test just to be sure that everything is ok, tell your mom not to be worry. good luck

tell her to try the next excersices

Well, it could be a lot of different things, so don't jump to the worst conclusions yet. Wait to see what the doctors have to say.

From the sounds of it it could be sciatica, a compressed disk or pinched nerve from so many years of back overuse. These can all be treated.

Tell her to eat apricot seeds. Eat the kernel inside the shell. Break the shell like a walnut and there it is, inside, the cure for cancer.

Don't listen to TJ. Apricot seeds are arsenic. Sure they will cure cancer if you eat enough they will cure everything but the patient will die.
