Hi. I'd like to have tips on redecorating my room. I share it with my sister and I want to know what kind of stuff to put up if I like piano playing and karate. I don't like 'bright and floral' that much, also not 'black/gothic' either. Any tips?

I'm sorry. I don't like pink that much. And I want more ideas on stuff like what to hang up on walls and rearranging furniture, not painting just yet.

How about red walls, accent with black. For wall hangings try framing some sheet music and use black frames, also you can frame karate gee. or just colorful karate belts. Cd's can be hung from the ceiling over the window which will reflect like suncatchers. use fluffy rugs and accent pillows.
have fun.

Well, you have only ruled out two of hundreds of different styles. What I have gathered is that you don't want girly or brooding. Would you like to lean towards modern or classic? You should ask yourself this. When you look around the room and think of the things you enjoy doing and what you own, what do you picture? Since you are sharing a room, it is important to talk about it together. What do you both like? Look at decorating catalogs, browse home magazines and see what you can both agree on.
There are many wonderful, cheap piano prints online that range from classic to very modern and abstract. If you like karate, perhaps you would want to make the room oriental with clean lines and a zen feel. An earthy green or deep red for accent colors would both be good, and plants help bring life to any room.
Good luck and make sure to keep the decorating fun, not stressful.

Look for wallpaper border that looks like piano keys. Find old sheet music and cover a cork bulletin board with it. Use red and black push pins and paint the frame in black.

Buy black and red accessories. White bedspread.

Consider stencilling your dresser drawers with music symbols.

Mirrors decorate the room nicely and old colonial pictures with soft lamp texture. Also some decorated candles.

SPLIT THE ROOM IN HALF. LET YOUR SIS PICK ONE COLOR AND YOU PICK THE OTHER. THEN HAVE YOUR SIS ON ONE SIDE AND YOU ON THE OTHER. THAT WAY YOU FEEL COMFY WITH YOUR STYLE AND SHE IS COMFY WITH HERS.
