It is in my back left of mouth, past where the wisdome teeth WERE, pretty much a the back of the mouth. It has been 10 years since wisdom teeth pulled, so that's not an issue. It is almost like there is a sore somewhere in there but I can't find it. It hurts to open the mouth really wide. (The sore feeling is like that when you yawn big with a sore throat and the stretching hurts.)

Advil helps to dull the pain, but it can make eating uncomfortable. Hurts to press on the spot.

No dental work done within the last year.

Any thoughts?

Could be a TMJ issue. Is there any swelling or swollen glands? Sometimes a bit of root structure can be left in the bone and become infected. That's a tough one to guess at. Wish I could help more...as with most answers, you'll have to see a dentist.
