"Many studies show that Ashkenazi Jews perform as a group better than other groups on standardized tests of general intelligence. On IQ tests the average score of Ashkenazi Jews is higher than that of any tested ethnic group, being roughly one standard deviation higher than the mean of the general white population.[4] These studies also indicate that this advantage is primarily in verbal and mathematical performance; spatial performance is average.
Ashkenazi Jews achieve out of proportion with their numbers in areas that presumably require high intelligence. For example, although Ashkenazi Jews represent only about 0.25 percent of the world population, they make up 28 percent of Nobel Prize winners in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, and Economics, and have accounted for more than half of world chess champions.[5] In the United States, Ashkenazi Jews represent 2 percent of the population, but have won 40 percent of the Nobel Prizes in science awarded to U.S. citizens, and 25 percent of all Turing Awards. A significant decline in the number of Nobel Prizes awarded to Europeans and a corresponding increase in the number of prizes awarded to U.S. citizens occurred at the same time as Nazi persecutions of Jews drove them from Europe during the 1930s and the Holocaust reduced their number in Europe during the 1940s.[6]"

Yes, search Wikipedia. Apparently the Mormons have the most educated people, followed by the atheists (and I'm neither, btw).
The stats change depending on age, however; most people become more religious after they get married and/or have children irregardless of their IQ, so I am not sure if these tests actually mean anything.

I would think manipulation of the bible for selfish gain, would be a rather sizable feat intellectually... If you could convince the whole world to kill, maim and give freely to you in the name of whatever God was made up in the process.

I've never heard of such a report, but I know many people who are very intelligent are religious. Most of the doctors, attorneys, etc. in our city are Christians. So am I and I have an IQ of 148. It's not genius, but close. Maybe you should consider such a study yourself.

You can start with these scientists...
Johannes KEPLER saw God's magnificance and constantly gave praise to God Almighty for his wonderful laws built into nature. He was a creationist.
So did Isaac NEWTON.......and he wrote 1 million words about his LITERAL belief in the Scripture. He was a creationist. " I have a fundamental belief in the Word of God....I study the Bible daily". - Isaac Newton
The electromagnetic equations of James Clerk Maxwell attest to the Magnificant mathematical inginuity of the Creator.
He was a Creationist.
Its only the ignorant who can't figure it out.

not that I know of. But religion has little to do with intelligence.
You have a God-given intellect, but short of a miracle, that's about it.
