Just bought the truck, no owners manual to read....... otherwise, I probably wouldn't have to ask.

Do not disconnect any wires. here are 2 procedures to switch the autolock on/off. good luck

Autolock Enable/Disable — Using the Keypad

A manual enable/disable mode allows the autolock feature to be turned off and on.

To enable or disable autolock using the keyless entry keypad:

Enter the five-digit permanent entry code into the keyless entry keypad.
Within five seconds of entering the code, press and hold the 7/8 button on the keypad.
Within five seconds of Step 2, and while holding the 7/8 button, press the 3/4 button on the keypad and release it.
Within five seconds of Step 3, release the 7/8 button on the keypad.
If the autolock is disabled, the horn will chirp once. If the autolock feature is enabled, the horn will chirp once shortly and then sound a second time with a longer sound of the horn once the above sequence is completed.

Autolock Enable/Disable — Using the Ignition Switch

Another way to turn the autolock off/on is by following this series of steps:

Close all doors.
Confirm that the key is in the OFF position.
NOTE: Steps 4 through 8 must be carried out within 30 seconds.

Turn the key from OFF to RUN.
Press the door lock control switch UNLOCK button three times.
Turn the key from RUN to OFF.
Press the door lock control switch UNLOCK button three times.
Turn the key from OFF to RUN.
Verify that the horn chirps. This indicates the enable/disable mode and now is ready to accept program changes.
Press the door lock control switch UNLOCK button one time to command the module to toggle the autolock/relock feature OFF.
Press the door lock control switch LOCK button once to enter the command.
Verify that the horn chirps one time. There should only be one chirp indicating that autolock/relock feature has been disabled. If one chirp is heard, followed by a longer sound of the horn, the autolock/relock feature has just been enabled. Return to Step 10.
Turn the key to the OFF position to exit the enable/disable mode.
Exit the vehicle and verify that the horn chirps once to indicate that a feature has been changed and that autolock/relock has been disabled.

As much as I value Dodge Mans opinion, he is entirely wrong, DO NOT disconnect any wires within the door. Doing this could cause a domino effect of lights to turn on and things not to work correctly. Though I have a 98 Explorer and the procedure is a little different, Nate G's answer is correct on how to disable this feature.

I had a similar prob with trying to change the pass-word on my door panel. Ford techs will consult you, but then tell you you have to change the DME or ECU. At-least for the door panel because the old pass-word still works after the new program code. Good luck with that Code.

How about if I just tell you how to download your whole owners manual, maintenance schedule, & warranty book ?
You can download it Free & then save it to your 'puter.

(then you'll have it & you won't ever have to waste another 5 points asking a question)

Wouldn't that be nice of me?
Okay!

i own a repair shop, and this is an automatic feature ford has,,you can disconnect the wire that goes to the door locks for that feature,,but it ,may affect ,the power locks working on it as well, you ,can also disconnect the one wire that goes to them from the neutral safety switch,,but this is going to make a check instruments light come on,,and that will drive you crazy, you might want to leave this feature hooked up,most of the time the switch will burn out for this feature, and it wont work anymore,,and it wont cause any lights to come on,good luck ,i hope this help,s.

well first things first. do you have the owners manual. if yes read through it maybe the index. check for alarm system or anything that might resemble that criteria and read on. there should be something there.
