Well when I leave her inside she just stands by the door meowing or wainting for me to let her out...It makes me sad to have her lock-up like a prisoner...When u spayed animals aren't they not the same... I mean aren't they like more quiet & playative?

She does have a litter box inside & gets fed inside & sleeps inside...She just goes outside to have a little bit of freedom.

WOW ---ALOT of these people are really harsh. I am a cat lover, and agree with you all that there are too many animals not being loved, etc, BUT LAY OFF THE POOR LADY... She is trying to help her cat and the kittens, so cut her some slack.

As for my answer.... It is really hard to try to put up with all the crying to go outside. If you know about when she is due, let her outside till she gets closer, then try to let her have a spot in the garage or basement that is colder, and more like outside, yet a place she will feel safe.

If she does have them outside, chances are, she will bring them in to you after they are born, or will take you too them. She will come back to eat, and yo can follow her. We have had to do this a few times, and the mother almost always takes us to the babies right away. She is really young though, so she may not be responsible enough to take care of them properly. If you notice that she comes back for food one day and looks smaller, try to find the kittens, she may have abandoned them after birth. We have had to feed a couple kittens with a tiny bottle, cause them mom abandoned them..They are fine now.. Good luck with the kittens, and the mom!!!!
Also, my cat was fine after she got fixed. I was so glad to not have her bleeding all over, and that horrible noise she made --AWFUL---.
She was still the same kitty afterword, but better!

PS... Don't let these guys upset you.

Don't allow her to go outside anymore. It will be hard for her to get used to it at first but she will eventually get over it. Get a plastic storage tote with a lid....about 2 feet by 4 feet...and cut a hole in the front of the tote like a kitty door...place a fuzzy blanket inside the tote and her food and water bowl just at the outside edge of the tote. Or, if the tote is large enough you could place the food and water bowl inside the tote but not on top of the blanket. If she has a favorite toy, place the toy inside the tote and place her in the tote and try to get her to lie down. Pet her for a while as she lies inside the tote and show her the toy. She will know that this is a safe place and should choose this place for having her babies. After the babies are born she will probably turn around with her back to the opening in the end of the tote with the kittens toward the back of the enclosed tote. You can take the top off of the tote to check on the babies from time to time without having to move her to do so. You can also put the kitty litter box on top of the tote if you want...it just kind of makes it convenient for momma kitty and is good use of space. When the kittens get old enough that they are walking around and roaming outside the tote, if you don't want the kittens to have full access to your home, you can get a large portable dog kennel and place them all inside with a litter box, food and water all inside. The confined space with help train the kittens to use the litter box a lot quicker than if they have access to larger areas.

First of all, cats are safer inside and will live longer, healthier lives. So keep your cat inside!
Second, have your cat spayed before it is too late.
Do you realize that for every 1 person born, there are 7 puppies and kittens
born? At best, 1 will find a forever home.
And don't forget, that every "Free-to-good-home" litter takes homes away
from animals already at the shelter.

STOP letting your pets; or your friends, relatives or co-workers pets
contribute to the problem.
If you love animals, it is NOT ENOUGH to merely say "My pets are fixed".
Vow to educate and enable others to fix their pets too.
Spaying just 1 female dog or cat, will prevent 6 others from ending up in a
shelter the following year.
Please be part of the solution, NOT the problem!
Thank you. ^..^

if you are going to let her out get her spayed otherwise she will be pregnant continuously, thats not good for her, and 10 months is a little too young to be pregnant, she hasnt finished her own growing yet, the only way to protect the kittens would be to keep the mother inside.

That is sad. The poor cat is only a kitten herself and her irresponsible owner didn't get her spayed.

Ever think about keeping her INSIDE so she can have them inside?????? That is what you HAVE to do. When they are 4-6 weeks...GET THE MOM SPAYED!!!

I wish I could give Torbay ten points up. He is entirely right and you are so wrong to let your cat out to breed when millions of cats and kittens are "destroyed" yearly in shelters throughout the US because there are not enough homes for them.

keep kitty indoors--there are too many things outdoors tht will kill kitty. humans poison them, dogs kill them, cars run them over--kitties like indoors. also get her spayed so she doesnot get preggers again.pregnant kitties do not run as fast as the animals that want to eat them or just kill them--kitties have many predators outdoors....

kitties have to work hard outdoors to stay alive. do kitty a favor and keep kitty in the house. litter pans do well in the bathroom and there is very little odor if pans are kept clean.
nothing feels worse than your kitty not ever again coming home.

way to young to be having kittens in the first place!!!!

why the hell are you letting her outside when she isn't even spayed!! cats are live longer and healthier lives indoors anyway?!

you should have spayed her at 6 mths of age!! spayed females change their personalities for the better. they don't have heat anymore!

IRRESPONSIBLE & CLUELESS!!!!!!!!!

spay her after the kittens are born. have you ever walked through an animal shelter lady???

What is done is done...you need to get a box. rip up newspaper and put it in, close off the box and cut a small hole for entrance. and hope she will have it there. Cuz otherwise it can get pretty messy.
